I find myself in a tropical jungle in the middle of a lost village in the land of Oaxaca. Legend has it that Puerto Escondido was uninhabited by humans, by plants only, it’s nature and animals… “The Hidden Woman Bay”. That was it’s name. Oh, what a tale! Have you heard about it? Young Mixtecan girl, who was kidnapped by the evil Spanish man…
She managed to escape from the cabin in which she was held, reached the coastline of La Punta, and hid herself in the jungle.
She was never found. This skillful woman is known as “La Escondida” or “The Hidden One”. Hence, the name Puerto Escondido. And it’s right here, where I’m reading this: a hidden Japanese place with a rich wealth of vegetation.
It’s a secret place, which is only known by word of mouth. It’s said that “La Escondida” hid here, impregnating the place with her mysterious femininity that, when combined with oriental cuisine, fuses the myth of a legendary town with an exotic ancestral country.
